2010-2011 Camaro V6 - VMAX Motorsports replacement made by RX - ICE-olator
VMAX Motorsports Style, made by RX Performance CNC ICE-olator for a 2010-2011 Camaro V6 features a one piece 9.75mm high tech heat resistant plastic block designed to reduce the temperature of the intake manifold allowing a cooler air charge resulting in increased power.
HP gains with the ICE-olator are about 18-20!!
Installation takes about 15-20 min. You reuse your existing gasket on the bottom side of the ICE-olator and bolts. You will need to purchase Permatex Right Stuff from your local auto parts store to complete the install. Begin with putting your gasket in place and applying the right stuff around each port on the top side. Next begin snugly bolting the ICE-olator in by starting with the furthest rear and front bolts. Then work your way through the rest of the bolts evenly hand tightening each. Make sure you don't over tighten.
Note: The ICE-olator is recommended to be used with an aftermarket cold air intake for top end gains. Product Features

This insulator is for the LLT V6 motor. The Black Ice-olator isolates the intake manifold from the direct heat transfer from the cylinder heads and also shields the intake from radiated heat from the engine block. With an infrared temperature gun, we saw a 30° F temperature reduction compared to a stock setup. Dyno graphs are available in the images.
Other independent testing showed similar gains on a dyno: +10.5 RWHP / +21.5 RWT at 2500 +11 RWHP / +19.5 RWT at 3000 +9.5 RWHP / +15 RWT at 3500 +20.5 RWHP / +27.5 RWT at 4000 +13.5 RWHP / +16 RWHP at 4500 +13 RWHP / +13.5 RWT at 5000 +11 RWHP / +11 RWT at 5500 +11 RWHP / +9 RWT at 6000 +4 RWHP / +3.5 RWT at 6500 +1 RWHP / +2 RWT at at 6800
No tune needed. As with any mod, battery disconnect is an easy process and will allow quicker adaptation to the changes.
NOTE: This item will fit with the Vararam Cold Air Intake designed for the 2010-2011 LLT V6 equipped Camaro. Some customers even reported better fitment of the intake after installing the RX Black ICEolator.
NOTE: This item WILL NOT fit the 2012+ LFX V6 equipped Camaro.
The LLT 3.6L V6 manufactured from 2008-2011 and found in the Cadillac CTS, ATS, Gen5 Camaro, and several other GM platforms has a cast aluminum intake manifold. This results in a power-robbing heat soak. The RX Insolator prevents much of this heat soak by reducing temps up to 40* F. The result is up to a 20 RWHP increase for the most power gains for the money spent.
We use a high temperature material with excellent insulating properties and we have also integrated recessed O-rings.
The O-ring grooves eliminate the need for any sealant. Without the need for sealant, there is no risk of excess RTV causing leaks or spreading into the port which can create flow disruptions.
The RX Insolator was designed to be used with the factory gasket that goes between the spacer and the intake manifold with the proper dowel pin holes to make alignment automatic. The RX Insulator mates against the cylinder head ports for a worry free install. |
